She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Tanner and Nettie Tanner (Rhoades); her daughters, Yovanda Crossgrove and Vickie Creech; and her siblings, Betty Sterling, Opal Snyder and Gerald Tanner.

She is survived by: her husband Robert Payne; her children, Tim Payne of Fort Wayne, Bob Payne (Vicki) of Columbia City, Chris Payne (Amy) of Columbia City, David Payne (Liz) of South Whitley, Jeff Payne of South Whitley and Bridgete Smith (Terry) of Huntington; her brothers, Cliff Tanner (Betty) and Larry Tanner (Charlotte); and her son-in-law Sam Crossgrove of White Pigeon, MI. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
