It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Joann Rex of South Whitley, Indiana, who passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Patricia Joann is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Patricia Joann's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett J. Penn and Lydia Lucille Penn (Aughinbaugh); and her brother Gene Penn. She is survived by: her husband Joe A. Rex; her children, Debra Lancaster (Rex Darley) of South Whitley, Jeffrey Smith (Melissa) of South Whitley and Sharon Peters (Dave) of South Whitley; her stepchildren, Rebecca Vaughn of Indianapolis, David Rex (Sandy) of Dayton, OH and Kathy Reeg (David) of Little Rock, AR; and her sister-in-law Jane Penn.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smith & Sons Miller Chapel (208 N Maple St, South Whitley, IN 46787). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
