He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobert G. Richard and Fern M. Richard (Geist); and his brother James L. Richard. He is survived by: his wife Margaret A. Stanley; his children, Dennis C. Richard (Kay) of Jackson, MI and Doris Applegate (Michael) of Woodbridge, VA; his grandchildren, Nicole Garcia (Sabas), Allison Richard, Michael J Applegate (Casey Grey) and Emily Ahlsted (Shea); and his great grandchildren, Mikey, Maisie, Jack, Macon and Ollie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Charles's honor are to the Wounded Warrior Project or the United Methodist Church of South Whitley.
