He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ralph Grauel, William Grauel and Bessie Culcasi. He is survived by: his spouse Patricia Mae Grauel (Zielinski); and his children, Rebecca Lewis and Jeffrey Grauel. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews on the Grauel side of the family, and his best friend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Hospice Foundation, 1731 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
