He is survived by: his children, Michael Robert Kaniewski (Jill), Francine Marie Pajakowski (John) of Thomas Robert, Angela Marie Gustafson of South Bend, Indiana and Jeffrey Robert Kaniewski (Jennifer) of South Bend, Indiana; his grandchildren, Tim Kaniewski (Rachel) of South Bend, Alex Kaniewski (Jared Hubbard) of Los Angeles, Mitchell Pajakowski of Chicago, Paige Pajakowski of Chicago, Hannah Kaniewski of South Bend, Jack of South Bend, Indiana, Katelyn of South Bend, Indiana and James Kaniewski of South Bend, Indiana; his great grandchild Cameron Kaniewski; his brother Kenneth Vincent Kaniewski (Chris VanVlasselaer) of Fort Myers, Florida; his stepsister Sister Virginette Rypniewski; his sister-in-law Marlene Wasikowski (James) of Granger, Indiana; and his nieces and nephews, Kim Marie D'Ambrosio (Thomas) of Long Island, Gregory Kaniewski (Julie) of Granger, Debra Kaniewski of Fishers, Daniel Wasikowski of Chicago, Laura McKinley (Kyle) of Oak Park and Stefanie Roth (Derek) of Boca Raton, Florida.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kaniewski Funeral Homes, Inc. (3545 N Bendix Dr, South Bend, IN 46628). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart University of Notre Dame Notre Dame, IN (101 Basilica Dr, Notre Dame, IN 46556).
