He was predeceased by: his parents, Sigmund Petzke and Mary Petzke (Putek); and his sisters, Lillian "Ann" Robert (Andre) and Helen Fishburn (Floyd). He is survived by: his wife Elaine Petzke (Hartz); his children, Sheri Reed (Gary), Garry Petzke (Deby), Julie Petzke and Michele Miller (Joe); his grandchildren, Ryan Reed, Ross Reed and Brittany Riley-Schedler (Joe); his great grandchildren, Aiden and Angelica Riley-Schedler; and his brother Robert "Bob" Petzke (Maureen).

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a veterans' organization or a charity of choice, in honor of Richard's memory.
