He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Gapczynski and Eugenia Gapczynski (Milostan); his sister Joan Rozycki; his brother-in-law Gene Rozycki; his niece Beth Ann Gapczynski; and his sister-in-law Mary Gapczynski.
He is survived by: his wife Nellie J. LePard; his siblings, Norbert Gapczynski of South Bend and Anne Gapczynski; his niece Gretchen Pfeil (Jim) of South Bend; his great-nieces, Madeline and Lillian Pfeil; and his great-nephew Matthew Pfeil.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 2:45 PM at the Kaniewski Funeral Home (3545 N Bendix Dr, South Bend, IN 46628). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (3526 St Johns Way, South Bend, IN 46628).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Pete's honor.
