He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Michaels and Helen Michaels (Bajewicz); and his siblings, Irma Waszak (Joe), Emil Michaels (Thanet) and Ralph Michaels (Virginia).

He is survived by: his wife Mary Trulson; his son Mark (Bettina); his grandchildren, Lucas and Christian; his son Christopher (Lisa); his grandchildren, Carter, Ryan and Ella; his children, Timothy and Jennifer Beacom; and his grandchildren, Spencer, Madeleine and Thomas.
