Governor Joseph Kernan Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Governor Joseph Kernan of South Bend, Indiana, who passed away on July 29, 2020 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Eugene Kernan, Jr. and Marion Kernan (Powers); and his sister Mary Pat Harbison (Kernan). He is survived by: his wife Maggie Kernan (McCullough). He is also survived by brother and six sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19, no services are planned at this time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Fund at the University of Notre Dame, which supports scholarships and fellowships for military-connected students.
