He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Shepherd and Nancy Shepherd (Nelson); and his siblings, Walter Shepherd, Wiley Shepherd, John Shepherd, David Shepherd, Nathan Shepherd, Mary Ann Shepherd and Juanita "Kit" Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Lura Dean Hicks (Hicks); his children, Donny Shepherd (Pam), Roy Shepherd (Stacey), Patricia Sanders, Brenda Hilton, Tiffany Taylor (Stephen), Tonya Cook (Ricky) and Kimberly Shepherd (Matthew); and his stepchildren, David Bradley (Amanda J.), Cheryl Reimer (Louis), Sheila Bradley and Samantha Bradley (Christopher Siinpiel). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
