He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Michael and Blanche N. Michael (McNear); his daughter Cynthia Yensel; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Wolfe and Richard "Dick" Eckert.
He is survived by: his wife Jenine Michael; his children, Marvin Michael (Jan), Ben Michael (Deeda), Gwen Ostrom (Brock) of Claypool, Indiana and Beverly Dierks (Kris) of Claypool, Indiana; his siblings, Kam Michael (Patti), Darlene Eckert, Kay Wall (David) and Karen Wolfe; and his son-in-law Frank Yensel.
