He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Wells Hovis; his daughter Alexandria Gerkin; his mother Jane Hovis (Howell); his siblings, Alan Hovis, Kim Hovis and Karol Hovis; his parents-in-law, Brenda Wells and Ferrell Wells; and his brother-in-law Terry Wells. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
