She was predeceased by: her brothers, Howard Smithers, Opal Smithers and Thomas Smithers. She is survived by: her spouse William Edward Abel; her son Philip Abel (Yvonne) of Plano; her grandchildren, Tonja Renee Abel of Dallas and Kyle Abel (Nancy) of McKinney; her great grandchild Sterling Philip Abel; and her brother Glenn Smithers of Indianapolis. She is also survived by her parents, husband.
