It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Katie F. Bontrager of Shipshewana, Indiana, who passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd J. Chupp and Mary Ann Chupp (Miller); her husband Perry Bontrager; her granddaughter Sue Ann Bontrager; her siblings, Elmer, John, Dan, William, Emery, Lamar Chupp, Anna Mae Stutzman and Elva Helmuth; and her stepmother Sovilla Chupp.
She is survived by: her children, Perry Bontrager, Jr. (Rosetta) of Shipshewana, Lavern Bontrager (Linda) of Shipshewana, Marvin Bontrager (Ruth) of Shipshewana, Alta Mae Borkholder (Larry) of Goshen and Martha Ann Bontrager (Robert) of Millersburg; her sisters, Edna Chupp of Nappanee and Martha Yoder (Toby) of Goshen; her siblings-in-law, Ellen Chupp of Nappanee and Melvin Stutzman of Etna Green; and her stepsiblings, Katherine Weaver (Eli), Leroy Miller and David Miller. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Family Residence (10340 W 250 N, Shipshewana, IN 46565). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Naylor Cemetery (10625 W 250 N, Shipshewana, IN 46565).
