He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. Wingard and Fannie Mae Wingard (Miller); and his siblings, Mahlon Wingard, Ida Mae Schrock, Elizabeth Schlabach, Mary Mast, Esther Lambright and Erma Wingard.

He is survived by: his spouse Edna Otto; his children, Irma Yoder (Larry) of Shipshewana, Freda Miller (Daryl) of LaGrange, Elma Fry (Kenneth), Anna Mae Miller (David), Vera Yoder (LaVern) of Shipshewana, Ernest Wingard (Christine) of Syracuse, Freeman Wingard (Betty), Clarence Wingard Jr. (Jeanette) and Jerry Wingard (Anita) of Middlebury; his siblings, Mary Miller (Orley) of Shipshewana, Ruby Mast (Ervin) of Middlebury, Joseph Wingard Jr. (Betty) of Shipshewana, Raymond Wingard (Dora) of Shipshewana, Freeman Wingard (Leora) of Shipshewana, Ferman Wingard (Barbara) of Shipshewana, John Wingard (Sara) of Topeka and Jay Wingard (Ruth) of Shipshewana; and his sisters-in-law, Esther Wingard of Shipshewana, Mary Kathryn Lambright of Shipshewana and Emma Schrock of Shipshewana. He is also survived by 46 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren.
