He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Nixon and Ruby Nixon (Jewell); and his brother Ronald Nixon. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Cooper; and his children, Christopher Nixon of Elwood and Amanda Nixon (Debbie Messer) of Oolitic. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
