He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Luther Jones and Ilene Jones (Benham); his wife Ruth Irene Jones (Abner); his son Martin Bock; his grandson Melvin Douglas Phillips; and his sisters, Vera Deno, Eloise Helms, Rosemary Luff and Naomi Belcher.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debora Phillips of Shelbyville and Paula Hatchett (Andrew) of Bloomington; his siblings, Mervin "Red" Jones of Bloomington, Steve Jones (Karen) of Florida and Charlene Smith of Bloomington; and his grandchildren, Wesley Hatchett, Jeremy Hatchett, Johnny Phillips and Renee Price. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
