It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Glenn Gordy of Shelbyville, Indiana, who passed away on April 7, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Gordy and Elizabeth Reynolds. He is survived by: his children, Gary Walters (Freda) of North Carolina, David Gordy (Lanna) of Waldron, Billy Gordy of Alabama, Melissa Gordy of Alabama, Tammie Newkirk of Indianapolis and Christy Gordy (Brenda) of Indianapolis; his siblings, Alene G Turner of Kentucky and Robert Gordy of North Carolina; and his close friends, Allen Rodgers and Jack Bassett of Shelbyville. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
