She was predeceased by: her parents, Gurney J. Swain and Bessie M. Swain (Carroll); her husband Maynard C. Payne; her son Maynard "Doc" Payne; her sister Ginny Wilson; her brother-in-law Jim Wilson; and her grandson David Adkins.

She is survived by: her children, Ginny Aldridge (Stephen) of Shelbyville, Manarda Abel (Steve) of Fountaintown, Brad Payne (Pam Payne) of Waldron, Sara E. Yonts (Butch) of Morristown and Michael A. Payne (Cindy Garrett) of Shelbyville; and her grandchildren, Desiree, Scott, Brett, Laurie, Nesha, Roddy of Zandria, B. J., Brandy, Deon, Brandon and Dustin. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or a charity for dementia.
