We bid farewell to Ira H. Hartwell Jr. of Shelbyville, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 8, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira H. "Hank" Sr. Hartwell and Lottie Hartwell (Lewis); his son Ira H. "Skip" Hartwell; and his grandson Dylan Branham. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Terry Baxter (Kent) of Shelbyville, Stacy Fields (Mark) of Shelbyville, Jana Crisman (Darrin) of Shelbyville, Misty Elliott (Bill) of Shelbyville, Julie Steward (Dwayne) of Madison, Alan Hartwell of Moscow, IN and Jack Hartwell (Angie) of Madison; and his grandchildren, Jason, Travis, Ciara, Zach, Luc, Jeni, Chris, Holly, Morgan, Danny, Dustin, Lindsey, Meagan, Ashley, Shawn, Cassie, Austin, Trevor, Stephen, Cody and Seth.
Viewing was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 4:00 PM. Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Murphy - Parks Funeral Services (703 S Harrison St, Shelbyville, IN 46176). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at the Bennett's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hank's granddaughter, Lindsey's Liver Transplant Recovery Fund, in care of the funeral home.
