She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald R. Gurley and Ruby J. Gurley (Lee); her husband William "Pete" Swango; and her brother Barry Gurley. She is survived by: her daughters, Serena A. Baker (Tommy Dobbins) of Fountaintown, Angela Hadley (Edward) of Shelbyville and Crystal Dettmering (Philip) of Greenwood; her siblings, Geraldine Brown of Greensburg, Carolyn Austin of Shelbyville and Richard Gurley of Cookeville, Tennessee; and her grandchildren, Brandy Moore (Paul), Ryan Hadley (Julianne), Taylor Cameron (Kiefer), Alex Hadley (Abby), Ethan Dettmering and Noah Dettmering. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church (3718 E Blue Ridge Rd, Shelbyville, IN 46176). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
