He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel G. McVey and Florence McVey (Pereira); his former wife Mary Ann Anderson; and his siblings, Doris Drake and Howard McVey.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred A. "Milly" Chapin Brown; his daughters, Deborah L. Zerr (Robert) of Bloomington and Linda J. Gaudin of Shelbyville; his son-in-law Jim Gaudin of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Shane Towne (Brittney), Amber Connor (James) and Katie Smith (David); his great grandchildren, Sophie Connor, Desmond Towne, Graham Smith, Charlotte Smith and Meara Towne; his stepdaughter Brenda Pfarr (Michael); and his son Bruce Brown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
