He was predeceased by: his parents, Haskel Sturgill and Ethel Sturgill (Blair); his wife Edna Mae "Peanut" McDaniel; and his brothers, Bobby Sturgill, Doug Sturgill, Frank Sturgill and Donnie Sturgill.
He is survived by: his sons, Eddie Sturgill (Rita) of Shelbyville and Tim Sturgill (Julia) of Florida; his siblings, Tommie Sturgill (Yong) and Wilma Staker of Shelbyville; his sister-in-law Emma Jean Sturgill of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Alisha Sturgill (Sam Jackson), Blake Sturgill (Victoria), Clare Spilman (Brock) and Todd Sturgill; and his great grandchildren, Dalyce Sturgill, Jaxon Sturgill, Oaklynn Sturgill and Warner Spilman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
