He was predeceased by: his mother Eva May Smith; his wife Dorothy W. Smith (Higdon); his grandson Jessie Smith; his brother Tommy Smith (Judy); and his stepparents, Glen McKelvey (Eva May) and Charles Smith (Mary Ann).
He is survived by: his children, Wesley Smith (Norma DeRoche) of Greensburg, IN., James Smith (Karen) of Nashville, IN., Crystal Williamson (Tom) of Boggstown, IN., John Smith (Karen) of Indianapolis, IN. and Mark Smith (Amy) of Manilla, IN.; his grandchildren, Noah Smith (Christy), Ryan DeRoche (Leesa), Brandy, Josh Clements, Breiden Smith, Brittany Hawkins (Jeff), Natasha Mines (Timothy), Jake Smith, Joe Williamson (Patty) and Dave Williamson (Bobbi); his great grandchildren, Melanie, Logan, Julia, Phia, Griff, Kitra, Dane, Declan, Dax, Davis and Olivia; his stepsiblings, Bret Morgason (Karen) and Susan Stocklin (Todd); and his niece Rochelle Smith Swails.
