We are sad to announce that on December 23, 2018, at the age of 93, Laura Belle Wallace (Shelburn, Indiana) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Laura Belle Wallace to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Wallace and Laura Wallace (Haupt); and her brother William Henry Wallace. She is also survived by cousins and extended family.

“Ms. Wallace was my freshman year a senior year English teacher at North Central HS, 1981 and 1984 - the finest teacher I ever had at any level. She, and her late brother Bill, were great Christians and of a human quality seen almost never in this world. I didn't receive a Christmas card this year and knew something was wrong. I stopped this morning (30 Dec) at her home Ebenezer United Methodist Church and spoke to folks about her life. She was relatively well up to 2 days before her passing, a blessing compared to most. She lived a great, long Christian life and has her reward with God. My sincere condolences to her family. I will miss Laura Belle Wallace much. Wade Turner Shelburn, IN [email protected]”

“Miss Wallace was not only my teacher, but a deeply influential woman. We became pen pals some years ago and continued to exchange cards and letters. I always appreciated her wisdom and warm heart, and her penmanship was a tribute to her rigor and attention to detail. Miss Wallace not only taught me and my wife (Becky Osburn Outcalt) but also my wife's mother (Marilyn Osburn). Her impact upon generations of students was felt and she will be missed dearly.
