He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ward and Anna Ward; his wife Betty June Kistner Ward; his son Jeffry Ward; and his siblings, Herbert, John Jr., Eddie, William, Charlotte Dodds, Norma Ward, Jackie Cody, Evelyn Scott and Nellie Wilson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and several close friends.
