She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Payton and Dorothy Arthur Payton; and her husband Robert "Bob" Mathis. She is survived by: her children, Brian Mathis (Kelli), Terry Mathis and Chad Mathis (Kathy); her grandchildren, Ashley Brown (Tylor), Chaz Mathis and Ragan Mathis; her stepgrandchildren, Whitney Gibson (Stephen) and Bradley Smith (Hannah); her great grandchildren, Easton Brown and Maddalynn Brown; her stepgrandchildren, Jayden, Justice, Serenity Lamaster-Smith, Carson Owen, Xackery Gibson and Emma Smith; and her brother Wayne Payton (Peggy). She is also survived by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Burkholder Chapel (419 N Chestnut St, Seymour, IN 47274). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes (419 N Chestnut St, Seymour, IN 47274).
