He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Walter and Maude Strong (Reagan); his wife Sharon Ray; his children, Hugh Leroy Strong II (PeRoy), Farrell Strong and Jonetta Ray Engleking; his grandsons, Chad Alan Engleking and Robert Leroy Weddell; his great grandchild Jeremiah Charles; and his siblings, Jerry, Cleo, John, Don Strong, Susan Strong-Offing and Alice Burke.
He is survived by: his children, Darl Strong, Michelle Runions (Strong), Wendy Weddell (Doug), Deanna Wilbanks (Strong), Scarlett Pollinger and Sheila Osborne; and his siblings, Shirley Stigdon, Judy Gambrel, Brenda Rottler and Marvin Strong. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
