He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Schroeder and Elizabeth Schroeder. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his sons, Mike, Gary (Rhonda), Jeff (Jenny) and Greg; his grandchildren, Matt, Chandra, Haley, Braden, Emily, Isabel, Jake and Olivia; and his great grandchildren, Maggie Jayne and Case.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
