She was predeceased by: her parents, Wendall Arenz and Esther Arenz (Gesch); and her brother Steven Arenz. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Robert J. Schmielau, Jr.; her children, Kurt Schmielau (Cynthia) of Beech Grove, Indiana and Kimberly; her granddaughter Harriet McDonald of New Orleans, Louisiana; and her sister Christine Korchunoff (Tom) of Bailey, Colorado..
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Lutheran Community Home (111 Church Ave, Seymour, IN 47274). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery (605 S Walnut St, Seymour, IN 47274).
Memorial contributions in Arlene's honor may be made out to the Jackson County Humane Society.
