She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl, Sr. Kuntz and Mary Kuntz (Cannon); her husbands, Robert Ellison, Sr. and Paul "Beans" Hinton, Sr.; and her brother Carl Kuntz, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Bob Ellison, Jr. (Connie), Debi Owens (Jerry), Paul Hinton, Jr. (Lindsey) and Dawn Locke; her grandchildren, Bobby Ellison III (Amy), Shane Ellison, Jay Owens (Jennifer), Tara Hackett (Richard), Isaac Hinton and Isabella Hinton; her great grandchildren, Caleb Ellison, Grace Ellison, Brenna Hackett, Shanna Hackett and Lucy Owens; and her sister Janet Kuntz.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's memory may be made to the J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter (201 Willinger Lane, Jeffersonville) or to the Alzheimer's Association.
