She was predeceased by: her father Julius Smith. She is survived by: her husband Martin Schy; her sons, Tony Schy (Cheryl) and Ben Schy (Stefanie); her siblings, Phyllis Andres (Ron), Juder Smith (Jean), Jerry Smith (Elaine), Karen Thomas (Tim) and Denise Bombersbach (Brad); her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Smith and Linda Smith; and her grandchildren, Justin, Allison, Lillie and Matthew Schy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Darlene's memory may be made to Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center or Hosparus Health of Southern Indiana.
