He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Burns and America Burns (Sizemore); and his siblings, Ralph, Raymond, Carl Burns, Julie Rhoades, Mary and Martha Burns.
He is survived by: his wife Janet S. Burns; his children, Teresa Cozart (Ed) of Scottsburg, Indiana, Doug Burns (Lisa) of Austin and Russell Burns (Amanda) of Noblesville, Indiana; and his siblings, Arlie Burns of Scottsburg, Paul Burns (Sandy) of Scottsburg, Joe Burns (Rhonda) of Plant City, Willis Burns (Anneliese) of Tyler, Texas, Verdidies Napier of Knoxville and Ruth Johnson of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Solid Rock Community Church c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
