He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Ermos and Ogle Francis Short (Gist); his wife Geraldine; and his sister Judy Unger. He is survived by: his children, Prentice Max Short, Jr. (Patty) of Clarksville, Kelley Lagle (Warren) of Scottsburg and James Short of Paducah; and his grandchildren, Emily Scott (Steven), Ben Short (Nikki), Timothy Short, Nathaniel Short (Samantha), Corey Lagle and Isaiah Short. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in Prentice's memory to the Scottsburg Church of God or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
