He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Akemon and Ester Akemon (Combs); his former wife Evelyn Hayes; his children, Luther Allen (James Luther Akemon) and Susan Lynn Akemon; and his stepgrandchildren, John Amick, Jr. and Jennifer Amick.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Akemon (Pitcher); his children, Daniel Akemon and Terri Akemon; his stepchildren, John Amick (Michelle), William Amick (Melissa) and Sherry Petty (Ben); his siblings, Willena McIntosh (Paul), Carol Bunch (Larry) and Bobby Akemon; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Soto (Freddy), Kathryn Schemmel, Autumn Ohanis (Jeremy), Ashley Davidson, Danielle Akemon and Tristan Akemon; his stepgrandchildren, Robert Amick, Tony Amick, Kiana Petty, Amanda Amick-Lytle, Joe Taylor, Cheyenne Holman, Christa Mitchell, Justine Keys and Bryce Petty; and his great grandchildren, Violet Ohanis, Luke and Noah Soto.
