He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Dever (Hassie) and Beatrice Emerson (Ollie); his former wife Diana Dever; his siblings, Brenda, Deloris, Seymour, Ronnie, David and Jackie; and his grandson Clint Morton.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Dever (Hays) of Scottsburg, Indiana; his daughter Rhonda Davidson; his sister Gerri Cain; his grandchildren, Andrew Elliot (Heaven), Tabitha Walsh (Casey), Brandon Morton (Mary) and Nathan Morton (Taylor); and his great grandchildren, Landon, Camdon, Aidden, Bryson, Colton, Hailey, Joni and Brenlee.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Collins Funeral Home (465 W McClain Ave, Scottsburg, IN 47170). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donation can be made in James's name to the Mountain Grove Cemetery in c/o Collins Funeral Home.
