He was predeceased by: his parent Honora Dunn; his son Kenneth Epple; and his siblings, Richard Dunn, Jerry Dunn, Larry Dunn and Edna Dunn.

He is survived by: his wife Myrtle Epple (Haskins) of Scottsburg, Indiana; his sons, Paul Epple (Cindy) of Lexington and Daniel Fred Epple (Alisha) of Bedford, Indiana; and his brother James I. Dunn (JoAnn) of Scottsburg, Indiana. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
