Donel was predeceased by: parents, William Abbott and Ethel Williams Abbott; children, Theresa Carol Abbott Oakley, Cindy Lou Pulliam and Tim Anderson; and sister Frances Terrell.

Donel is survived by: wife Jeanne Abbott; children, Ricky Abbott, Donna Jean Smith (Mark), Larry W Abbott (Karen), Bill Abbott (Kim), Chris Anderson and Susan Anderson; and nephew Michael Wooldridge. Donel is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
