He is survived by: his mother Imogene Napier Gates; his friend Thresa Huffman of Scottsburg, Indiana; his son Jonathon Gates of Chelsea, Indiana; his granddaughter Ashley Gates; and his sister Shirley Woods (Gabriel Gates).
