He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy L. Smith and Ota Smith (Barger); his daughter Rhonda Jeanene Smith; and his sisters, Coleen Barger and Madeline Joy Brinegar.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Katherine Smith (Maggard); his children, Roy Smith (Charlotte) of Phoenix, AZ and Reba Herald (Scott) of Scottsburg, IN; his grandchildren, Skylar, Scarlett and Ethan; his sister Ann Stout of Camby, IN; and his close friend Margie Everhart.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory (138 Westavia Blvd, Scottsburg, IN 47170). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 3:15 PM at the Scottsburg Cemetery (731 S Elm St, Scottsburg, IN 47170).
