It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Hammond of Scipio, Indiana, born in Cumberland, Kentucky, who passed away on August 8, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William M. Smith and Della T. Cross Smith; her husbands, Truman Stephens and Richard Hammond; and her sons, Max, Jerry, Richard and Dan Stephens.
She is survived by: her sons, Ron Stephens (Sheila) of Columbus and Marty Stephens (Karen) of North Vernon. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
