He was predeceased by: his parents, Lisle Minnick and Clara Minnick (Bowyer); his sons, Scott and Mark Minnick; and his brothers, Edward, Fletcher and Richard "Bud" Minnick.

He is survived by: his children, Rene'Houin (Mark) of Plymouth, Darin Minnick (Tracy) of Englewood, Erin Garcia (Alex) of Raymondville and Blaine Minnick of Scipio; and his grandchildren, Bridget Miller (Andrew), Eric Houin (Lucia Bernacchi), Leslie Houin (Andrew Popp), Clara Martini (Jake), Olivia Dudash (Robert), Zachary Raterta, Devon Minnick, Celestina Garcia and Roman Garcia. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
