We bid farewell to Joann Schmitt of Schererville, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 6, 2024 at the age of 87. Joann touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald Schmitt; and her siblings, Raymond Gaskey and Florence Skurka. She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Balzer (Les Gibbs), Pamela Companik (Tim) and Laura Byrom (Joseph); her grandchildren, Carrie Ryan (Joseph), Kimberly Chindris (Chris), Jill Clark, Allison Wozny (Dan) and Erica Barlo (James); and her great grandchildren, Caroline, Charlie, Ilana, Grace, Liam, Julia and Jimmy.
Memorials may be given toward St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Les Turner ALS.
