He was predeceased by: his mothers, Lucy Darkis and Ruby Rice; his grandparents, Emmett, Geneva Boling Jackson, George, Myrtle Fleenor Rice, Jake and Sarah Cole Darkis; his brother Tony Rice; his nephew Neal Rice; and his niece Crystal Gross.
He is survived by: his sons, Justin Lance Darkis (Stephanie) of Tennessee and Brandon Levi Darkis of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Tristan Darkis, Traiton Darkis, Kacie Darkis, Kodan Darkis, Gavin Darkis and Storie Darkis; his siblings, Tracy Darkis (Rita) of Seymour, Troy Darkis (Linda) of Seymour, Lana Darkis of Seymour, Bruce Rice (Debbie) of Seymour, Tim Rice (Tammy) of Seymour and Tawana Smith (Steven) of Seymour; his aunt Winona Reed; and his friends, Brad Blevins and Ray Weston. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts.
