He was predeceased by: his parents, James Russell and Helen Laverne Bishop (Simpson); and his sisters, Carol Sue Wright and Mary Lou Denny. He is survived by: his wife Marjene Rae Bishop (Motsinger); his daughters, Christina Brewer (Steven) of Salem, Myra Albertson (Eric) of Salem and Deana Moore of Livonia; his grandchildren, Benjamin Brewer (Sarah), Chelsey Miller (Shayne), Todd Albertson, Adam Brewer and Elizabeth Albertson; and his brother-in-law Larry Motsinger (Sara). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
