We bid farewell to Lydia Hattie Tarpley of Salem, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 7, 2025 at the age of 82. Lydia Hattie touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stiles LaRue Tarpley and Hazel Tarpley (Medley); her daughter Kitchell Barrett (Dowd); and her siblings, Charles Tarpley, Herbert Stiles Tarpley, Donna Tarpley, Beatrice Paul Kreachbaum and Marilyn "Babe" Daugherty.
She is survived by: her great grandchild Peyton Poe; her pets, Gizmo, Ringo and Zeus; her grandchildren, Peter Knight and Rebecca Barrett; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Virginia Riley, Aaron Scott Davis, Charles Davis, Susie Spellman Motley, Andrew Spellman and Bea Spellman; and her cousins, Carolyn Wheeling (Doug), Sylvia Lynn Davis and Carmen McKinley (Walley).
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes (1119 E Market St, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at the Cave Hill Cemetery (701 Baxter Ave, Louisville, KY 40204).
