She was predeceased by: her mother Bessie Norton; and her husband Howard Sowder. She is survived by: her children, Reda Alexander (Perry) of Salem, Judy Nicley (Charlie) of Mt. Vernon, Janet Bowling (Dave Sebastian) of Salem, Vernon Sowder (Jenny) of Mt. Vernon, Randall Sowder (Scarlet) of Salem and Melvin Kent Sowder of LaGrange, Kentucky; and her brother Jerome Cox (Barbara) of Honolulu, Hawaii. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
