It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Smith (Salem, Indiana), born in New Albany, Indiana, who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Larry may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Larry touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his father Larry J. Smith Sr.; his wife Cindy Ravenette Smith (Gilstrap); his brother Donald R Jeffrey Jr.; and his stepdaughter Jessica McCutcheon. He is survived by: his mother Janet S Pate (Gibson) of New Albany, Indiana; his children, Bradley Villegas (William) of Leavenworth, Indiana and Jessica Guthrie of Pekin, Indiana; his close friend Melody (Fannin); his stepchildren, Rusty Holt of Salem, Indiana and Jeremy McCutcheon of Clark County, Indiana; and his brothers, Kevin Smith (Amy) of Central Indiana and Mark Smith of New Albany, Indiana. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Dawalt Funeral Home (204 E Market St, Salem, IN 47167).
