He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dewey Hall, Sr. and Martha Hall (Lewis); his wife Ruby Hall; his children, Deborah L. Hall and James D. Hall; his siblings, Monroe Hall, Willie Lee Hall and Jean Nicholson (Hall); and his son-in-law Glenn Miettinen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Martha A. Hughes (Eugene) and Pamela J. Miettinen; his siblings, Bob Hall and Kay Jones (Hall); and his grandchildren, Myles A. Lawson (Ciara), Marshall E. Lawson (Holly), Shaun Rhoads (Ashli), Shayne Rhoads (Andrew Sanders), Collin E. Lawson, Amelia K. Lawson, Porter Rhoads, Ruby Rhoads and Eleanor Sanders.
