It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gwendolyn L. Nelson of Salem, Indiana, who passed away on December 19, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Mahuron and Mary Payne Mahuron; her husband Doyle L. "Doc" Nelson; and her siblings, Lloyd Mahuron and Margaret Hollingsworth.
She is survived by: her children, Joel Nelson (Josie) of Salem, Scotty Nelson of Salem, Linda Mayfield (Larry) of Columbus, Marcia Fleenor Hughes (Curt) of Salem and Lana Boling of Bloomington; her brother Wayne Mahuron (Rosann) of Bedford; her grandchildren, Todd Boling, Jason Boling, Julie Barnett (Brian), Ron Fleenor, Anna Nelson, Justin Nelson, Wendy Mayfield and Michelle Fravel (Tony); and her great grandchildren, Jacob Boling, Madison Boling, Jonas Boling, Matthew Fravel, Nicholas Fravel and Tyler Barnett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blue River Baptist Church.
